Green Tea & Mulberry Detox Smoothie
With our delicious berry season upon us, now is the time to stock up on fresh berries and freeze them for healthy breakfast smoothies. With this in mind and as the summer heat turns it on for us – we finally get to welcome a favourite backyard childhood fruit …mulberries! There is something about mulberries that trigger so many fun memories from our childhoods – silkworms, stained hands, ruby red lips and ever so happy taste buds. Loaded with nutrients Besides the mulberry having the most vibrant and beautiful colour – mulberries have a multitude of benefits for your inner health and wellbeing. Mulberries are loaded with iron, vitamin C, vitamin K, potassium, calcium and also have a significant amount of dietary fibre, while being a great helper in improving our digestive health and immunity system. Green Tea With the health benefits of mulberries in mind and with Green tea considered as one of nature’s natural superfood – we thought it was only natural to introduce them to each other and create a delicious and healthy breakfast smoothie! Steep, blend and enjoy!
Ingredients
- 2 cups strong chilled Madura Green tea (made from 8 tea bags)
- 1 cup of fresh Mulberries, washed and drained
- 1 medium banana
- Squeeze of fresh lime
- ½ cup plain yoghurt
- Squeeze of raw honey
- ½ cup Extra milk or iced water
- Ice
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in blender
- Blend until smooth
- Add a dash of the extra milk or water if you prefer a thinner texture.
