Yes, the tea plant does contain caffeine, and climatic factors, type of plant, nutritional status and harvesting methods, can affect caffeine levels. This could range from 2.5% to 5.5 % dry weight – coffee in comparison can have up to triple this amount. Most of our non organic teas are consistently at 2.8%, our organic teas are consistently at 2.2%, and all are regularly tested for this at an independent government laboratory.
