Premium Blend Gluten-Free Black Tea Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
- 2 Madura black tea bags (Premium Blend or your favourite Madura Black Tea blend)
- 1 cup hot water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large free-range eggs
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened dark cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt

- Preheat your oven to 175°C. Grease and line a 9-inch round cake pan with parchment paper.
- Place the two Madura Black Tea bags in a cup and pour the hot water over them. Allow the tea to steep for 5 minutes, then remove the tea bags and let the tea cool to room temperature.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture, and beat until the mixture is smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the gluten-free all-purpose flour, dark cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the cooled black tea, beginning and ending with the dry mixture. Mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and place it on a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once the cake has cooled, you can dust it with cocoa powder for a simple and elegant finish.
